HDEC awarded contract for Phase II Chiayi Science Park Wastewater Treatment Plant

HDEC, a subsidiary of Continental Holdings Corporation (Stock Code: 3703), announced that it has secured the design-build contract for the Phase II Chiayi Wastewater Treatment Plant at Chiayi Science Park of the Southern Taiwan Science Park (STSP).

The project was awarded through the Most Advantageous Tender evaluation process. Leveraging its extensive experience in water and wastewater treatment and its strong engineering capabilities, HDEC secured the contract valued at NT$3.01 billion, which is expected to contribute stable medium- to long-term revenue to the company.

To support the rapid growth of the global AI industry and the increasing infrastructure demands of high-tech manufacturing clusters, STSP is expanding public utility infrastructure in the Chiayi Science Park area.

Under the project, HDEC will construct the Chiayi Wastewater Treatment Plant with a treatment capacity of 30,000 cubic meters per day (CMD), along with related infrastructure. Construction is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2026, with completion targeted for 2029, providing sufficient wastewater treatment capacity to support the park’s future development and operations.

“We are honored to contribute our expertise in water treatment technologies in a key infrastructure project supporting Taiwan’s high-tech industry. By integrating AI-assisted operational systems, the facility will enable optimized operating strategies while delivering low-carbon, energy-efficient, and sustainable wastewater treatment,” said HDEC CEO Jerry Chou.

With this project, HDEC now has undertaken a total of 12 wastewater treatment and reclaimed water plants across Taiwan. Among them, seven wastewater treatment plants and three reclaimed water plants are already in stable operation. Including This project included, the company’s current backlog exceeds NT$85 billion.
